    Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are trying to get rid of part of the gamertag that shows. Unfortunately, this is not possible. The reason the #and four numbers is there is someone already is using the gamertag Nick. You can look
    over the
    gamertag FAQ     for more information.

    Try to log in to your xbox live account in a web browser where you can select a nick etc... then retry to log in on PS4 it should work
