    Xbox Live Upgrade to Game Pass


    Hi,

    I received a message from Xbox live thanking me for being an 'All Star Gold Member' with a reward of 5 months free subscription of Game Pass. Nice. A redeem code was provided (standard 25 digit code) but everytime I try to redeem it, it keeps telling me that I'm in the wrong place or using the wrong device.

    I have tried the redeem code on both the Xbox and online via the browser but none of them will accept the code.

    Anyone else have this issue?...........any guidance would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    Once you upgraded to Xbox game pass ultimate, your Xbox live gold will be carried over to Xbox game pass ultimate. For example, if you have Xbox live gold for a year and you upgraded it to Xbox game pass ultimate, your Xbox live gold and xbox game pass for
    console and PC will also be good for 13 months (12 months Xbox live gold+1 month upgrade Xbox game pass Ultimate). If you cancelled the Xbox game pass ultimate, automatically your Xbox live will also be cancelled since it is already merged to the Ultimate.
    You need to contact Xbox Support to reinstate your lost membership.

    the upgrade from Xbox Game Pass to Game Pass Ultimate combines Game Pass with Xbox Live Gold, that is why Game Pass Ultimate costs more than standard Game Pass, and the combined cost is cheaper than having Live Gold and Game Pass as separate subscriptions

    When you upgrade to GPU all your subscriptions are upgraded. Both Live and game pass. You don't have Live and GPU at the same time, you only have GPU, since it is service that contains Live, Game pass, and game pass PC.

    You can add the Xbox Live Gold and Game Pass code then upgrade to Ultimate. The Ultimate will automatically be extended by the amount of months of the Xbox Live Gold plus the amount of months of the Game Pass code.
