    XBOX LIVE TENURE PROBLEM


    I've had xbox for years, I had my first account back in 2010. I had years on my tenure but when I decided to fully upgrade to the xbox one with the shared live I didnt need to renew my gold and now with the gamertags becoming available I saw that you needed
    gold so i went out today and bought live but sadly noticed that my tenure has been reset. Ive played xbox almost everyday for years I want to get my tenure back so I can get a new GT tomorrow and talking with Rowland from the Support live chat brought me here
    says you guys are the ones who will fix this issue for me. Thank you

    I already contacted Xbox Live Support with my tenure problem we tried multiple things and my tenure is not the same anymore. First it said i had 2 years on my tenure now it says i have 1 year. I was wondering if you can help me fix this problem. Please and

    Hey there bud!



    There has recently been a new update in regards to tenure, tenure is now based on the time accumulated on Xbox LIVE Gold. Here is a quote from an official thread regarding this update (of which I will link you to, in this post)



    "Tenure is based on the cumulative amount of Xbox LIVE Gold time a user has. While you do not lose tenure when you go Silver, Xbox LIVE Silver time does not accrue tenure. You will see your tenure increase only when the year of Xbox LIVE Gold time
    has finished.
    "



    However, there is a issue with tenure that is currently being solved, whereby some user's tenure will be put down. A lot of user's tenure has been fixed so where the problem stands at this moment, I am unaware of. You can view the updates on this

    XBOX LIVE TENURE PROBLEM

    You're still showing as silver here, so your gold may not have fully updated on your account. Tenure does not reset, but since you're not fully gold again yet, it's not showing yet. It can take a full billing cycle (30 days) for your tenure to show back
    up on your account.

    I'm not sure if the tenure has to actively be showing or not.

    You are showing as gold now though btw.

    Sorry to hear about your problem.



    Yes, the number on the upper right of your GamerTag is the tenure of your Xbox Gold Live account.



    It is a continuous count, so it will reset if there is a lapse in the membership.



    Therefore, if you are currently a Free/Silver member, and start a Gold Live membership, the tenure will be zero.

    Microsoft has changed how tenure is calculated. See below:

    Tenure is based on the cumulative amount of Xbox LIVE Gold time a user has. While you do not lose tenure when you go Silver, Xbox LIVE Silver time does not accrue tenure. You will see your tenure increase
    only when the year of Xbox LIVE Gold time has finished.

    For your first year of Xbox LIVE Gold you will see a '0' and increase to '1' year of tenure when that year is up! For example, if you've had Xbox LIVE Gold for 3 years and 6 months, you'll see a tenure of '3' next to your Gamertag.
