Xbox Live Rewards email question

Hi,

Image of the first paragraph of an Xbox Live rewards email I received on Dec. 17th. Unsure what it means by 4 month extension? Thought maybe it was related to my Gold subscription but Xbox phone support says it was renewed Dec. 15th my normal yearly billing
date. Thanks

It's referring to the VIP portion of the program. VIP status is based on how much you spend from September 1-August 31 each year. This year they extended the year so that VIP would track your purchases from September 1, 2015 until December 31, 2016 (instead
of August).
