XBOX LIVE profile membership time?

I know that your Xbox live profile shows how many years you’ve been a gold member but what if you play on pc and no longer renew your gold subscription because as you may know, the Xbox live services are completely free on pc.

Do the years on your Xbox live profile keep counting or do you actually need a gold subscription even if you no longer play on console in order for your profile years to keep counting ?

You need a Gold subscription for it to keep scoring.

You will need the subscription for it to be taken in account of how long you are subscribed to gold.

Well if you have a live membership your profile should work, if not than you need to get annxbox live membership card for your profile. Also you can try clearing your system cache 3 times than trying to connect to Xbox live with your profile

Have you had a continuous Gold membership from 2005?

The way that tenure is calculated is based off of the amount of time a user has had an active Gold membership, not how long the Xbox Live profile has existed.

I added a 14 day xbox live gold membership to my son's profile and it still tells me that the membership is silver

It lets me play Netflix via that profile though, but not join xbox live party's
