Xbox Live Privacy and Security settings

Me and my friends decided to start playing Minecraft pocket edition again, right? We were playing fine on regular Xbox friend worlds, but eventually we decided to start a realm (more online focused) for free. My friend makes the realm, and then I try to
join, but it won't let me because with the way my Privacy and Security settings are set up, I can't play online with Xbox Live (I don't normally use xbox so i didn't notice this prior). As I've tried to fix the problem, I've noticed about a million different
things that I don't think are supposed to happen (and that don't just happen on my computer but also my friends). Here are a few:

1. The website address which people in Youtube videos use to accomplish this is "account.xbox.com." However, when I try to go to that page, it redirects me to this page: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...ge-childs-xbox-privacy-online-safety-settings.
I tried it even in incognito, it still does it.

2. The website (website being "account.microsoft.com") will, on about half the different pages in the Xbox section, display a text box saying "Sign In" in the upper right corner (even when I am signed in). The text box isn't a clickable button, it's just
a text box. Normally, when the website actually wants you to sign in, it displays a button with a "guest" emblem and a plus sign.

3. On the previously discussed page "https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...ge-childs-xbox-privacy-online-safety-settings,"
on the 1st step, there is a link which says "Xbox settings." The full step requires you to sign in to those settings. However, when the link is clicked, it tries to redirect you to "account.xbox.com." As I said earlier, that just redirects you to the same
page again, so you just end up with two tabs of the same page. It's impossible to change the Xbox settings, because every time you try to go to the Xbox website, it just sends you to this page (regardless of whether your goal is to change the privacy settings).

These issues must be relatively new, because none of the recent videos on Youtube address any of this.

Is there a way to sign into the Xbox account website and change your Privacy settings? Or is the website somehow broken without anyone being aware? Thanks.

Thank you for responding to my question, and being a fast and simple respondent (who at least seems to be human, not robot).

I tried the link you gave, and it had the same trouble. It just sent me to the Xbox One instructions for changing parental privacy and online safety, and it didn't have a hyperlink saying "privacy and online safety." Maybe it's something about Macs? Since
it doesn't use Windows? On my friends devices (Apple and Google) it wasn't working, but I've never tried it on a Microsoft device.

I can check on my Windows laptop, but the link you gave me still had the same effect as the account.xbox.com links I talked about originally.

I see that you have been taken for quite the spin in regards to this matter.

I would like you to instead try
this link that will take you directly to the Xbox Settings on the Xbox website.

Here you will see a hyperlink that reads Privacy & online safety, this is the link you want to follow.

Please give this another shot and let us know if you manage to update those privacy settings after all!

Well the fact it occurs on and off Live makes it seem more like a hardware issue rather than a network issue. Could you try to move your profile to a USB drive and take the hdd completely out of the equation and see if that allows you to access your privacy
settings? If this works, means there could be an issue with the hdd.

Well try clearing the cache on your hdd. If that does not work go through all files on the hdd and look for any corruption. Corruption shows up as a yellow with a black exclamtion mark in the middle. If this still does not solve the issue, try deleting the
gamertag and recover it back to the console. Ensure you delete only gamertag and not items and gamertag. Any corrupted files just redownload from download history under account management.
