Xbox Live Price Hike

This is unbelievable. My xbox live Gold expired and when i went to renew it Microsoft removed the 1 year subscription option.

So now the cheapest option is 29.99 for three months on the website and my actual Xbox. (I'm Canadian so the price is likely higher than the States) Regardless 120$ a year for live? Seriously? Microsoft is going to try and gouge its customers just a few
months before they release a new system which im sure will run at the same cost.

Absolute joke, and one of the worst business decisions I've ever seen. Not to mention live has gone down for full days during COVID. I could let that slide because im sure the servers were overloaded, but now you try and screw me on the price?

By the way PlayStation plus is still only 70$ a month for the year on their website.

I've owned an Xbox for most of my life from original to 360 to Xbox one and I even bought the X. This is how im repaid for being a loyal customer? Well you just lost me. No way im paying and extra 40$ a year just because of greed.

Hello, so I've seen this 12 month option and the 6 month option gone for some time now!! Not sure what's going on there. Within the XBox program they don't even give out 12 or 6 months anymore its always one month now. Over the years prices for things
go up. We might not agree with or like it at all but its the way of the company.

My theory is that Xbox Live Gold will be a thing of the past within the next year, which is why they removed the one year subscription. Probably so that people don't go buying the one year then they end the Gold service then people complain that
they still had time left and they want refunds. Since the Xbox Game Pass subscription is a thing and has been very successful, I feel like Gold will be leaving soon, probably with the release of the new consoles.

that would be corporate suicide, they would not force the customer to pay for ultimate just to play online, not everyone wants gamepass.

They will always charge to play online so it maybe a glitch on their side.

You can still buy digital codes for 12 months for other retailers. Usually it's cheaper that way anyway.
