    Xbox live pc gamer tag change problem


    I've been trying to change my gamertag yesterday and today, today i almost succeeded but it is still saying Error occured. I got so far that i was about to pay the 10 euros, but i wanted to change my region because i realised that my region in
    Microsoft was set to United States. So i changed my region to Finland (the right one) but i wasn't able to even check availability of the gamertag i wanted to change to, it just said An unexpected error occured, please try again later. This happened yesterday
    too, I hope someone can help me with this, Thank you.

    I changed Gamer Tag from name_1 to name_2 in my XBox Live profile through my PC. However when I want to connect my profile to XBox Live through my XBox it was not possible since Gamer Tag was not updated on my Xbox.

    Good night. Go to xbox.com account settings and try change the gamertag. If the problems persist contact the support of youre area.

    Just based on reading this I would think that the only people who can receive the free change are those that had their gamer tag generated, not those who created their own.

    If your gamertag was created for you when you signed up for Xbox LIVE, you can change your gamertag once for free.
