Xbox Live, multiple Xboxes

Hi, I have an Xbox One upstairs on my Xbox live account. I have set my child up so he has his own sign in & shares my Xbox Live on the same Xbox One. I have recently bought a new Xbox One X which I have set up in the different room & I have signed in & the
Xbox Live works fine under my log in but when I sign my son in the Xbox Live doesn't work, what am I doing wrong?

Probably your NAT type, which is not proving consistent across various routers or firmware with the Xbox One.

There are some existing threads about this and the Xbox site has got a networking topic in the support section.

NAT is giving me grief with the X1 on my setup, yet the same kit allows me to connect multiple 360s to Live all with an Open NAT at the same time. The X1 uses seven ports and four of them are the same as the 360. Makes sense, as it's still Live.

 

Disconnecting when restarting xbox

Port forwarding forwards all data to one xbox only. Please ask your ISP for help in reconfiguring for Port Triggering which works for multiple Xboxes.

support.xbox.com/.../network-hardware-compatible-xbox-live lists the routers known to work well with multiple Xboxen.

 

You can only share gold on 1 console at a time. So you would need to set the new console as your Home console if you want to share the gold with him there, but that will remove his ability to share in the other room.
