Xbox live msg for 1 week free gold due to downtime.

Just to clarify, it was not a trial code.

Trial codes do not stack on top of existing Gold memberships. The 7 days given for this instance would be added on to whatever Gold membership you currently have.

I saw another post similar to yours on another part of the forums. One of the support people replied that the 7 days would have been automatically applied at the time of the message. However, it was a 7 day trial code. As those do not work with people
who have a Gold membership I'm not sure how that would have been applied.

I would recommend contacting @xboxsupport on Twitter for more help with that.

why have xbox live so many downtime

extend or xbox live gold for a week or so to compensate.

depends if your on a prepaid card membership there is no renewal

however if you purchased a promotional membership or dashboard one you will have to call xbox support in your region

to turn off autorenewal

doesn't affect friends only how you msg them

you will have to be at the console to msg them

also you can still purchase dlc but you will have to wait 1 week after a demos's release to download it

there is no multiplayer functions except for the holiday xbox live free weekends and even then only basic multiplayer functions

also no netflix or espn or any gold functions

We see that you are not receiving Gold Status this month due to your subscription being a promotional Gold subscription for 1 month. Promotional subscriptions are not eligible for Rewards, so your free 1 month is not eligible. From our FAQ:
