Xbox Live Gold Subscription isn't working properly

It actually is working properly. Only the account that purchases the subscription can access benefits like Games with Gold, Deals with Gold, etc.

You can play games offline but you may need to download the initial updates to begin. Otherwise a subscription to Xbox Live Gold is required for pretty much all features to work properly.

To play online you will need an xbox live gold subscription. However you should be able to log into your xbox and either purchase the subscription or view your current one. Just to be sure, check that your internet is working properly and your console
is connected.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are inquiring about your Xbox 360 not properly recognizing your Xbox Live Gold subscription Trial.

This may be, perhaps, that on the Xbox 360,
Xbox Live Gold subscription trials work differently than on the Xbox One.

On the Xbox 360, you are unable to download any of the
Games with Gold on 2-, 3-, or 14-day Xbox Live Gold trials. One Month trials are
exempt from this.

This means that it is not properly recognized as a subscription, as the only benefits you receive are being able to play games online, and speaking in parties.

To use the
Cloud Saved Storage you need to have an Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

In other words, you will have to either redeem a subscription for at least one month, or purchase a one month subscription off your Xbox console.
