I don't think you fully understand how bc works

In order to use bc content you must be connected to live for a reasom

You need to download the patch before you can use new bc titles from disk

You do not need to be connected to live once you download the patch and no you do not need to have gold.for the patch but only if you need.matchmaking

FYI xbox home gold doesn't apply to xbox 360 live

It only applies on the account with actual gold

Ingame content still.needs to be connected to live

But unless you are using multiplqyer content you don't need gold

No sir. I bought the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1 specifically for the Xbox Live Gold that comes along with it. Everything else that comes with the bundle is not an interest to me. I only care about the Gold and being able to play on online servers on my Xbox 360.

I Played world of tanks for over 3 years on xbox one and xbox 360, I have no issue with having to have a gold membership to use the xbox live servers even for a free game.

I doubt theres any chance of microsoft allowing people to play the F2P games without a gold membership as no matter what you are still using the microsoft servers to access the game.

Players can also access the microsoft rewards site to earn xbox live gold memberships really easily.
