    Xbox Live Gold price is misleading and deceptive


    Microsoft bills customers $79.95 for 12 months of Xbox Live Gold,

    significantly higher than the current advertised price of $53.00. This

    is misleading and in contravention of the Fair Trading Act 1986.

    Microsoft Support was unwilling to remedy the matter. A complaint has been lodged with the New Zealand regulatory authority responsible for enforcement action

    Our advertising re live and live gold when selling the product is deceptive, as in fact only very limited jrisdictions are available, where one can actually pay for the service.

    Hi there,

    Unfortunately no one in the forums can assist with a billing specific issue such as this.

    If you're an existing Live member it does say right on the
    Xbox page    , the "promotional offer is not valid for existing subscribers".

    Then it should have charged you the promotional price. Did you reach out to phone support or one of the other support contact options? If you haven't tried
    phone support, I would recommend trying that route by requesting a call back.

    The price you see should be the price you buy it for. Contact support, and they should be able to figure it out for you.

    The price you see should be the price you buy it for. Contact support, and they should be able to figure it out for you.

    There is no deception or scam here. Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer only title and as such requires either Xbox Live Gold or GamePass Ultimate to play.
