xbox live gold one month trial, exclusive offer for me

i logged on to my xbox account and got a one month gold exclusive offer for me i contacted customer support as i kept getting error code 80190128 and was told that the offer was for people who had never purchased live gold before, after i told the support
person that the offer was an exclusive offer just for me he said to post here for the promotional team to look into it and i would have a response in 24-72 hours about whether or not i would still get the gold month free trial

As far as I know, I am unable to take a screenshot of the offer (this is on the XBOX 360 dashboard, front and center), but it is titled "Try Gold For Free (Exclusive Offer Just For You)". Clicking through to the details, it does indeed offer 1 month of free
gold time, along with whatever free games and discounts are current. The background image has the new Lara Croft, the Minecraft characters Steve and Alex with pickaxes and a red-collared tamed wolf, and a yellow car.

When I try to accept this offer, I get alternating error codes 80190128 and 80072741. If this offer is for people who never purchased XBOX live Gold before, then why are we being offered this free time (first time or again), only to be denied by error messages?

Looking good. I see yours refers to pounds. Mine refers to dollars, but the image and offer is the same: free gold time for a month...if these errors didn't keep popping up.

 

Well, this is one way to solve it. The free gold time for a month offer has been replaced by another offer: a month of gold time for only 1 dollar. And this offer actually works; no errors. Thank you very much.

 

you know that by them advertising the free gold for a month on you xbox home page and not giving you it is actually false advertisement and is illegal especially as no where in the terms and conditions does it say it is only for people who have never bought
gold before
