Xbox Live Gold in forgotten EU countries

I'm aware that this discussion was started several times… but it passed some time since last one, so I hope that there will be some news. I live in
Croatia… the small country on the eastern side of the EU. I had the Xbox original, and currently owning 360 and One. Have
Xbox Live Gold, and playing online for some time … but I have to say that I'm really
frustrated with lack of support for my country. I even
cant get some free games included with gold subscription because it asked me for billing data. I paid for the Gold and I want those
„free“ games! It is hard to explain to my 7yo son that he can not get those games even they are "free". His friend on PS don't have those problems...

Is it really that hard to enable the service for new country? And please don't mention the government policies and similar things… how Sony, Nintendo and I don't know who else managed to solve those things? Or you just don't give a
[Mod removed-profanity] for us because we are to small for you? You are telling us that the list of countries is constantly expanded, but we don't see any new countries on the list for several time... I'm sure that players from other non supported
EU countries (Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Romania and Slovenia) would agree with me also.

At the end I regret for my decision to stick with Xbox… it would be smarter that I purchased PS or Nintendo… But it is not too late, my Gold subscription lasts for few more months, and after that
„Goodbye“. (I know that my kid will be very happy with Spiderman.) Will I be back after you decide to support my country? (if that ever happens) I really don't know... but it seems that you just don't care .

Microsoft already sell some services in Croatia eg. Office 365 (I would say that is similar to Gold Live)... and you can normally buy things for PC (Win OS, games and other software) in Microsoft Store.

It's a lot more complicated than you think. And it does involve government polices, mainly tax, banking setup and all the legal requirements of company registration in foreign countries. Microsoft can't just add Croatia at the touch of a button.

They have to get set up for any addition countries they want to officially perform business in. Company registration, tax set-ups, banking, licensing and a multitude of other complex business and legal requirements. Now this maybe slightly streamlined
a little for an additional EU member state, but even in the EU, each sovereign nation has its own laws and regulations which Microsoft has to abide by.

I can only assume the likes of Sony and Nintendo are already setup as legal trading entities in Croatia and some other countries where Microsoft is not registered. It's a far more complex task than what you think.
