Xbox Live Gold for "$1"

Can someone help, I am getting pissed. I am trying to buy xbox live gold for 1, but every time I keep getting hit with, "Use different way to pay. We couldn't get authorization". So that means I don't have enough to buy it right? I understand there are going
to be taxes, but how much, and if the taxes are equal up to 9.99 why even have the promotion gold for $1? Or is it trying to add extra months? Also the card I am trying to use has 7 bucks on it, so I don't understand what is going on, I thought gold for $1,
taxes would maybe bring it up to 3-4 dollars, but I guess I might be wrong.

I'm thinking he is referring to Xbox Live Gold. If that's the case, they've confirmed that you will not need to pay for Xbox Live Gold to access online modes/games for Windows 10.

The option your referring to is the Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack which is $99.99, this is a full 1 time payment, not monthly.

This gives you the ability to add 4 Xbox LIVE Gold members who will all have a 1 year Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.

A normal 1 year subscription costs $59.99 and that is specifically for 1 account, and it is also paid at one time.

Other subscriptions available are 1 month ($9.99 / month), and 3 months ($24.99 / per every 3 months paid in full).

Tenure is based on the total years of Xbox LIVE Gold time. The clock stops when you go Silver/Free and Xbox LIVE Silver time does not add tenure. Tenure increases only when the year of Xbox LIVE Gold time ends. For your first year of Xbox LIVE Gold
you see '0'; it ticks over to '1' year of tenure when that year completes. If you've had Xbox LIVE Gold for 3 years and 6 months, you'll see a tenure of '3' next to your Gamertag.

I have two subsciptions that say “Xbox Live Gold” and the other “Gold- 1 Month”. Main game that is played is Fortnite but i think I can cancel the “Gold- 1 month”
