Xbox Live Gold/Family Account/Multiple Consoles

I am a mom that is the Primary Account holder and have my 2 boys on the family plan and we share the Live Gold account. We currently have a 360 and a One and I know they can log in on those at the same time. If we got a second Xbox One would they be able
to log into both the Xbox Ones at the same time?

Also, a similar question. When they go to their dads they have a Xbox One there. Do they need to add my account to that console to be able to play the games etc that have been purchased under my account even though I already gave approval/access to them
to play the game.

If they have to have my account logged into at their dads house to play the games can I still log in on the One at my house or will that kick them out? Can I log into the 360 without kicking them out?

I think so yes but for a single xbox, it takes the single live account and all users can access features behind the paywall as if they had gold on that console.

arthurdentpc has 3 xbox's tho, and the old "family" bundle allowed each user to effectively have their own gold membership, so gold on each user which translated to gold on each console, now its gold to anyone on the single xbox....

So I assume on single xbox families the new system is much better, but on multiple xbox families its not as good. Its not super clear tho how this new gold system will work on xbox one, but it does read like arthur is shafted rather unfairly in this new scenario.Click to expand...

If that is the case who gets to use their gold account on other machines? They've clearly said that. Just like now, your live subscription follows you to whatever Xbox console you use. So who on that original console can take their account to another console?

I thought they were getting rid of the family live membership because you could have so many members under your live account now at no added cost? So it should work out cheaper... at least I thought that's what they said at their E3 conference.Click to expand...

You cannot sign into two Xbox One consoles at the same time on one account. If they're signing in separately, then that would work.

In order to share your games/gold, the boys accounts have to be using the console you set as their Home console. If they sign into any other console, they will no longer have access to those games/gold. If they do sign into your account before signing into
their own, they can still access the games. You would not be able to sign in on the One without kicking them out. Since you can be signed into the One and 360 at the same time, you would not kick them out if you sign into the 360.

Hello,

Once you purchase the XBOX Live Gold Family Pack - 12 month, it lets the person that purchased the account to add 3 more people onto the account as secondary accounts which will all have XBOX Live Gold.

The accounts need to be added on the same XBOX 360, but after they are successfully added they will be able to move the gamertags to their own consoles regardless of where they are.

So to answer your question it's your own account (the person that redeems the code or purchases it) and then 3 more people (for a total of 4 people). This is a good thing to have if you have multiple people in your family that want to use XBOX Live Gold on
multiple consoles or on the same console.

Did you go through the Recover Gamertag process? A Gamertag can only be signed into one console at a time. You can switch consoles if you copy the Gamertag to a memory unit or a usb flash drive that's formatted for your Xbox.
