Xbox Live Forced Name Change

Hello!

So apparently my name has been reported for being "offensive", even though it contains no bad words. I think that the reporting on my name is clearly from either a sore loser or a troll. It would blow my mind if anyone was so genuinely offended by my name that
they would take the time to report me (multiple times). But I digress.

This has been my name since the start of the game and I've never had any problems. I've built myself up in my Xbox community as a fine player (in terms of respectfulness, sportsmanship, and overall likability) under that name and now it has been taken from
me because someone decided to mess with me. I don't think it's fair at all. I would like to ask for the Xbox enforcement team to help me reinstate my name. And if that's not possible then at the very least, I would like to be able to change my name without
having to pay, as the name generated for me is ridiculous and I think it would be extremely unfair to make me pay to change a force that I had no control over.

But I'd really prefer to get my name back! That's my number one priority!

I doubt forced name changes adding yo perm bans anymore since you can't pick your name after a forced name change is issued

You pay for the custom name after a forced change

probably for people to think twice about using the same or similar name

Without knowing what your previous name was - hard to say (as a neutral observer) to say why it was offensive. Regardless you can go here
enforcement.xbox.com/Home and request a case review. The email they sent you should have told you why they changed it.

Yeah, the email they sent me explained it. I would like to talk to them first before reviewing, as I would like to know if they themselves thought it was offensive, or if it was just an auto response to the reports.

If it turns out that they did find it offensive, I will do some defending, but if that doesn't work then I hope to at least get help with changing my name.

They would not have done a change on someone's request. They would have reviewed the name as it is compared to the ToU/CoD to make their decision. Good Luck since these decisions are generally final.

 

Well mine changed for an unknown reason. I have had my xbox for a couple of months. I bought halo 5 fallout 4 and a few other games. One day, all of a sudden i couldnt play any of my games. It kept saying "couldnt load latest saved data". No one had an answer,
so I factory reset my xbox one and now when i tried to sign in with my email i think i put the wrong password and i think it just made a new account with my old accounts email because now i am trying every email i could possibly have used for my live account
but the only one i ever used is now signing in to this brand new account with none of my games on it :'(

Your problem seems to be different. You might want to start a new thread for your issue so the assistance can be specifically for you.

You probably should contact Microsoft support to address the account issue as no one here will be able to really assist you with that. Maybe they can assist you with getting logged back in to the correct account. Good Luck!
