Xbox Live Events - error messages making it impossible to watch show - after setting up ...

Hy guys,

I just talked with the online support, they asked me to write this post so we can check the results of the troubleshooting.

So I discovered if I change the DNS on my router the Xbox Live Events app works very strange. It's still streaming in full HD with sound - but error messages keep popping:

"Try playing again

Sorry, something interrupted the show. (0x80050201)"

Every time I click close it pops up again immediately - making it impossible to see the video - and impossible to stop or quit after.

I did a factory reset, checked out with another router: Xbox Live Events working. After setting up the DNS - the error messages are back!

Connected to my old router with a wire and WiFi too - same error messages popping up after the reset.

The strange thing that everything else works - except that one single app.

It was working without any problem until the last month (few weeks before the New Xbox One Experience update) - I had the same DNS set up and using it since the summer.

The point: Xbox Live Events app is streaming full HD in the background without any problems, and the same error messages keep popping up making it impossible to view the content - with DNS set up on a router.

False DNS Errors

I turn on my xbox, i'm connected to Xbox Live. I try to play a game or something, and it tells me I lost connection. I test the connection and it says that my DNS setting is incorrect, even though I have it set to manual, so only I can change it. The DNS
setting was the same when I was successfully connected to Xbox Live, but now it's telling me that it's incorrect, and that I should try an automatic DNS setting. I set it to automatic, and it automatically sets my DNS to the SAME setting, and I successfully
connect to Xbox live. When I try to start up a game, I lose connection. I test the connection, and it says that the DNS setting is incorrect, and to try a manual setting. Saying that this is making me furious is an understatement. I am one error message away
from tearing my xbox from the cords and throwing it out the window. In a shorter sentence, its basically telling me "DNS setting is incorrect, even though it hasn't changed and you were just connected to Live a minute ago" Somebody please help me before I
break my xbox into a million pieces.

More Info:

If I manually set my network settings (IP and DNS), it now connects to the network, but fails at the connecting to the internet step, with this error message:

Your DNS server can't resolve the names of Xbox Live server or Xbox.com

I can connect fine from my laptop running wirelessly from the same router.

Also, one more thing is that the xbox, oddly, doesn't show up under attached devices in my routers admin page

 

I recreated the issue on multiple Xbox Ones. If you change any DNS on your Xbox (or router, doesn't make any difference) XLIE stops working completely.

I contacted support 5 times, they asked me to make this post so they can react here but I literally got zero help so far... I'm super disappointed.

I am getting this same problem yet i have not changes a single thing on my router, the problem just appeared out of the blue

 

I'm bumping this as it has just happened to me as of this date, so clearly it is an ongoing problem. If this issue has been resolved to some people I'd appreciate the fix, or if XBL Support can actually respond to these posts that would be great. Strangely
this error code does not show in the XBL list of error codes so there is no official recognition to XBL!

Ps. I haven't touched any network settings, I don't know what a DNS is and frankly shouldn't have to. With E3 just around the corner I would think it prudent and professional for XBL Support to jump on this proto.
