    I’m sure many others have had the same issue I’m currently experiencing, growing up my Xbox live account was created in my parents email. Now at an age where it is no longer suitable to be in anyone else’s email but my own I am trying to change it. After watching many videos and reading forums I have found that you can add an alias email and change it to primary. However for what ever reason when I try to add my own email it’s just says not possible. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    Thanks for the help that did answer my question so my new one to you would be my emails already linked to an Xbox live account hence why I can’t use it/ add it as an alias can an Xbox live account be deleted?

    Are you looking to cancel the email or the xbox live account ,?

    If it's the email only then you will need to swap it with another email account.

    Once an email is not linked to any Microsoft account you will be able to close the email account.
