xbox live and minecrfaft windows 10

Alot of people say 'you dont need xbox live for the windows 10 edition of minecraft' yet when i open it through the xbox app it tells me i need live gold, and when i open the launcher it trys to make me buy the game again, im not sure if its because i bought it on xbox originally but it says i own it

You don't need Gold to play online on PC. You said you bought the game on the console, but have you bought the PC version? Minecraft is not a Play Anywhere title so you don't get the PC version just for owning it on the console.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, you will need to click the install to download any digital content for PC.

If you have a Windows 10 device, you can now use the Xbox app to connect to the Xbox Live service.

Thanks for posting. While streaming your Xbox One to your Windows 10 PC, it is by design that Xbox Live parties are prioritized on Windows 10 at that point.

However, if you own a Micro USB cable or the Xbox One Wireless Controller Adapter for your Windows 10 PC, you can use the Xbox One Chat Headset on Windows 10 for Xbox Live Parties. Check out our

If you have Windows 10 there actually is no need for the Windows Live app anymore. That app is to play games on Xbox Live if you had any of the earlier versions, like Windows 8.1 or Windows 8.

Windows 10 has the Xbox App programed into the operating system and that's how you link your computer with the Xbox Live Services. You just simply sign into your account there and the computer is now linked.
