xbox live account duplication

Hi has anyone else had the same issue with xbox live. I gave my son my xbox 360 last year and my account stayed the same (xbox live account payed by direct debit yearly) he did mention he couldn't log on to xbox live last year. I assumed my card on account
had ran out and I hadn't payed by bill and account had stopped. I have been working away alot so forgot all about it and bought my son games so he didn't need to go online.

I happened to be going through my emails this week and noticed an email from Microsoft xbox Live Gold charged successfully back in October.

I returned this weekend and have been trying to log my xbox onto live with no success. I changed my password loads of times until 2 hours later i happened to notice my Microsoft account which is linked to live had a different user name then on my xbox. An
extra digit was added to user name in the Microsoft account. When ever i tried logging onto my user name through the xbox it would refuse but creating an additional avatar using the different account name could but had no access to the live service.

I then logged into the other account (My original account which i thought i was logging into) i got a pop up saying this account is linked to another account and once i accepted it sent me to the new account with the extra digit and there was my subscription
to xbox live. So i have been paying for a service and because some one on Microsofts end mistakingly adding an extra digit ment i now lost access to the account through my set up on my xbox.

I recon my son has lost about 8 months payed access. Will Xbox reset my account to allow for this mistake.

After further checking, it is not possible to link 2 Microsoft accounts to one primary email address. Your Minecraft account must have migrated to the original Microsoft account email address where it was first created.

Arin B, if you made 100% sure you have logged with the correct email address and still a new account was created, i highly recommend contacting Support directly so they can look into your account and verify why there are multiple accounts attached to the same email. Here in the community we do cannot access account information, so that needs to be dealt with Support, okay?
