Xbox live 1.0 shutdown

Alot of good memories and friends made during that time

Things have to progress just wait and see what plans xbox have for the future it will blow your mind

Because the dost of maintaining and updating that service for a tiny tiny population of people who would be using it is cost prohibitive.

It takes a lot of resources to keep legacy servers up. The good news is there are lots of OG xbox games playable on xbox one, and private people have set up servers to run some of the more obscure stuff.

Unfortunately things become outdated and need to be retired or updated. It is one way to make people buy new gear, otherwise there are a lot of people that wouldn't get new technology unless they needed to. That's the exact reason that I had to upgrade
my cellphone. The old one still worked great, but they were discontinuing that technology from the cell towers. I feel your pain.
