    Xbox library games disappearing.


    I noticed this error recently, but it has probably been around for some time. Today I turned on my xbox after a year and a half for my cousin play and when I opened the game "celeste" an error appeared on the screen. I tried to open other games, some opened and others had the same problem.

    The majority that did not open it was because I needed the gamepass that I disabled. But "Celeste", "Super Bomberman R" and "Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon" that were games offered and redeemed for free with xbox-live gold during the period of 01/02/2019 and 15/03/2019 disappeared.

    I tried to hard reset and restart the main account login, but the library continued without counting all my games. My last attempt was to try to solve the problem using the computer. I logged into my xbox account on the PC and to my surprise "Celeste" and "moonlight Sculptor" were there (Moonlight Sculptor was also on the Xbox).

    Okay, so on my computer there were only 2 games and on my Xbox there were 8. My indignation only increased.

    Microsoft has two separate libraries for the console and the PC. In the end I lost access to 4 games:

    - Celeste

    - Max: The Curse of Brotherhood

    - Super Bomberman R

    - Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon

    Max: The Curse of Brotherhood" was a game that I bought with money and disappeared. Microsoft purchase history does not account for free purchases made with xbox-live gold and for some reason did not account for the game I bought "Max: The Curse of Brotherhood".

    So, what i can do to restore those purchases?

    Game library won't load

    I completely removed the ecternal harddrive and redownloaded lego marvel onto my xbox and as soon as i reset the xbox it disappears from the library but i can still play it from the dashboard pin. It will show up if i refresh my library but disappears
    after reset. This just started after the December update.

    Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

    Check if the games are still taking space on your hard drive. If they are then I'll recommend you do a power cycle to clear the system cache

    - Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.

    - Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 2 minutes.

    - Plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on and check if it's all good.

    If that doesn't help, I'll suggest you try doing a factory reset keeping games and apps on your console. This will refresh the console and remove all potential bugs without deleting any game data.

    - Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    - Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    - Select Reset console.

    - Choose Keep Games and Apps

    Once that is done, you'll need to sign into the console using your Microsoft account credentials. If the issue is with your console, that should fix it.

    If the games are no longer taking space on your drives, then it means they were uninstalled and you'll have to reinstall them from the store.

    Does these games show in your account's order history? Check here: https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/

    Make sure you're signed into the correct Xbox profile which purchased the games, so they show in your library.

    Ah thank you so much!! Had no joy with the power cycle, but the factory reset steps appear to have done the trick and I’ve got everything back! Phew! :-D

    You can also check your order history at account.microsoft.com to make sure that the order is still showing as completed and not refunded for some reason.

    If it is showing anything other than completed then more than likely it was refunded for some reason or another.
