    Xbox keeps saying we see your external hard but the USB cable is too weak or use a new port


    Few mouths I bought a 2tb external hard drive for my xbox. Did fine for a few months and the power cord decided to get bent and had to buy a new one and now getting a error message that my xbox recognized my hard drive but can't use any games off the external hard drive. I now use it to store useless games. So how to fix this issue? I believe something in the drive isn't working correctly.

    I believe the issue here is you bought a charging cable instead of a data one. You'll need to replace the the cable you just got. Sorry.

    Or you can format the drive and reset it up

    Bad sectors can affect disk performance

    Same problem here. My Seagate external hard drive blinks for about 5 seconds and then just stops then I get the 'we see your external storage, but the connection is too weak to use' error. It does this on two different xbox ones. Ive swapped out ports, unplugged
    everything, restarted the console. The hard drive works just fine and the blue light stays on when I plug it into my pc. Any solutions here?? and yes my external hard drive plugs into the wall and has a cord that plugs into the usb port.

    Try Another USB port or cable

    Are you on Preview system updates (Insider Program)?

    Are your hard drives powered externally, or through the USB port?

    Are your hard drives connected to a USB hub instead of directly into the Xbox USB ports? (hubs may possibly cause the connection to be "weak")

    Please hard reset your Xbox One. Then start it up again and re plug the External HDD in the back USB 3.0 port. If that doesn't work please check the format of the external HDD and check to see if the USB cable is 3.0. I heard many people say that Western
    Digital are still giving out 2.0 cables
