Xbox keeps saying I'm entering the wrong password when it's not

I occasionally play on other XBO consoles over the course of a few months. When I try to log in to one that I haven't played on in a while, I'm prompted for my password. I pull up my password manager on my phone and enter the password even using a keyboard sometimes. XBL will always tell me it's the wrong password. If I reset the password on the Microsoft website and then enter the new password on the XBO, it works perfectly fine so I know I'm not just fatfingering the keys. But that's stupidly annoying to have to reset my password every time I try to sign in to my buddy's XBO.

Does anybody have any idea what's going on? Is this some kind of bug with the XBL authentication system?

I have 2FA turned on if that matters. I've read similar posts but nothing that I've seen helped. I've tried removing the profile completely and re-adding it but that's more of a pita than just resetting the password to begin with.

This happens across multiple consoles. Basically any time that I am required to enter my password, it doesn't work. If I reset my password on the Microsoft website then I'm able to log in on the Xbox just fine with the new password.

If you haven't already, I would recommend trying to soft reset your console!

Yes. It is my account on my Xbox 360, but I don't know what the 2 step verification is. All it keeps telling me is that I'm entering in my password wrong (despite it being correct) and it just tells me to reset my password.

Ok, the problem was fixed with my Microsoft for my Xbox 360 now it keeps saying the password is wrong (when it is correct) on my Xbox One

im having the same problem as o SIR WIGGLES o when I try to sign in it wants me to enter my email address and password so i do, and when i enter it all in and then it loads for a while and says, that its the wrong password (which is the right password) or
the email i entered doesn't have an xbox live membership, (which is the email i used to make the xbox live membership), please help me.
