Xbox keeps on freezing on home screen no recently played apps or games pop up except for...

Please do the steps below in sequence to do a factory reset and let me know if it works:

- Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

- Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

- Wait 30 seconds.

- Plug the power cord back in.

- Press and hold the BIND button (the one you use to sync controllers) and the EJECT button, and then press the Xbox button on the console.

- Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.

- Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart.

Note: If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.

- You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.

- The console should start and show the Troubleshooting screen

- Choose "reset this Xbox" and there you have an option to Keep Games and Apps (already downloaded) or to Remove Everything

That's odd! When you say you cleared your system cache, did you do a full power cycle? Just to be sure, follow the steps below:

• Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
• Once the unit is powered off, unplug the power cable from the Xbox One and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  
• Plug the power back into the unit and power the console on.

Post back and let us know if apps appear where they should be after doing a power cycle.

Press and hold the menu button when on the home screen (with the game/app selected). It pops up a context menu to allow you to close the game/app.

I've been getting this error alot recently. Whenever i try to go to the home screen from a game or app or try to get up the quick pannel on the left it takes a few seconds then pops up that error code and doesnt open the quick pannel or take me to the home
screen. Sometimes it will take 4 or 5 attempts to exit a game or i just have to turn off my console.

Try going to preferences and put your Xbox as Home Xbox that could be why your games and apps are not popping up on the screen it could fix your problem that your having.
