Xbox is turning on but no picture or game

Almost everyday my xbox starts to act up and dosent let me play any games and sometimes when I try to reset it it takes a long time to reset and dosent turn on even though the light is on so even when I get it on again it dosent let me into games for instance today I was just playing a game went to restart the game because it was bugging and I went back to it and said the game couldn't start so then I took me 40 min now I got it back up and had to do multiple resets to play any game. What is wrong with it or is there anyway I could fix this. Please help this is annoying also it says the games are corrupt but sometimes when I restart they work

    :)

Hi Joe! My name is Darhlene and I’m here to assist you.

I see that you have already taken troubleshooting steps to fix this issue. Please try the following methods:

    1. Power cycle your console.

    a. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for at least 10 seconds.
    b. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

Important: If you don’t see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure you hold the power button for at least 10 seconds until the console completely shuts down.

    c. After you have completed the previous steps to power cycle your console, try to restart your game.

    2. Test your network connection.

    a. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    b. Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Network settings.

Important: Any outages will appear under Current Network Status.

    c. On the Network settings screen, select Test network connection. If the connection test is successful, your console will connect to the Xbox service.

Note: If you're prompted to update your console software, select Yes.

    3. Remove and re-add your profile.

    a. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    b. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.
    c. Select the account you want to remove (the one that’s experiencing the gameplay issue), and then select Remove.

Now download your profile again to create a fresh version of your profile data:

    a. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
    b. Select Profile & system, select Add or Switch, and then select Add new.
    c. Type in the email address and password that you use to access your Microsoft account (the same account you just removed).

Important: Make sure that you do not select Get a new account unless that’s what you want to do. If you select Get a New Account, you will create a brand-new Microsoft account.

    d. Follow the prompts as the console walks you through account setup steps such as privacy info, sign-in, and color preferences until you return to the Home screen.

Once you're done, try to launch the game.

    Issues after update!

I am also seeing the guide button issue since the update when playing FIFA 14. It doesn't happen every time I hit the guide button in-game, but it does happen every time I am in Career Mode. Pressing the guide button killed the picture, but not the sound.
I couldn't turn turn the xbox off and back on through normal means and get the picture to return. It required a full power down of the xbox to get the picture back.

I didn't see any issues with the controller not turning on, and I haven't tried any DVDs

    4k looks white washed?

Fixed it. Turned 4k off on Xbox settings. Then reset the default picture settings on the TV, then turned them all back on. Turned the 4k back on in the Xbox settings and the white wash was gone.
