Xbox is being very slow won’t load games or even settings menu

I'm sorry that you're having slowdowns on your console, however, I have some tips that can help you if it's not a hardware failure.

Try applying the steps below (one by one) and check the result:

Step 1: Restore network settings

1. Navigate to General > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address;

2. Click Clean Up and then click Restart.

It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

Step 2: Re-add MSA on Xbox

1. Navigate to General > Settings> Account> Remove accounts > Remove your account. Restart your console and add the account again.

Step 3: Clear your local save games file and persistent storage.

Make sure that there’s no disc in the disc tray.

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the Guide.

Select Settings > All Settings

Choose System > Storage.

Now select Clear local saved games.

Choose Yes to confirm.

Restart your console

Press the Menu key on your controller.

Click Settings, then go to Disc & Blu-Ray.

Select Persistent Storage.

Click Clear Persistent Storage.

Note: When doing this step please make sure that you always play online so that all your data is saved to the cloud

Step 4: Powercycle Console

1. Turn off the console by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds. The console will shut down.

2. Turn the console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on the controller. "

If that doesn't work, resetting your console while keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry, as long as you're connected to Xbox Live, your progress and game saves won't be deleted. It will remove all your accounts, but you can add them all later.

Press the Xbox button to open the dashboard.

Select System Profile > Settings > System Information > Console.

Select Reset Console.

Reset and keep my games and apps.

The Xbox status I use is from the setting menu, not the game menu.

Even before I start to launch any game, the Xbox won’t recognize the TV as 4K 120 capable. And that is weird.

I hard reset but it’s still super slow and won’t load games

**EDIT: Another issue that is on and off is that the system runs very slow and laggy while in menus and stuff. So basically when I press join a game mode the screen will freeze and the Xbox seems to "struggle" loading. The screen will freeze during different
menus all the time and such.**

Fixed the problem by selecting the install, use the Menu button and then cancel the install. It restarted the install, was very slow and took about 2 hours to load, game now playable.
