    Experiencing lag when playing?

    What's your internet connection speed? Are other devices connected to the internet aside from Xbox? I guess the problem lies with the internet connection. Do a test at speedtest.net. In case the speed is okay try to see if the other devices are eating up your internet speed by turning them off and focus on Xbox One.

    I've been having some problems with that internet connection error, too, but honestly, I don't know how I feel about disabling the firewall and/or security features of the router. I hope they release a patch soon that will fix the problem.

    Xbox internet

    To change the DNS settings on your Windows 10 device using Control Panel, do the following:

    Open Control Panel.

    Click on Network and Internet.

    Click on Network and Sharing Center.

    On the left pane, click on Change adapter settings

    Right-click the network interface connected to the internet, and select Properties.

    Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) from the list.

    Click the Properties button.

    Click the Use the following DNS server addresses option.

    Type your preferred and alternate DNS server addresses. Here you can enter any DNS servers you want, including from free ones such as Google Public DNS or OpenDNS.

    Google Public DNS addresses: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

    OpenDNS addresses: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

    Click OK.

    Once you complete these steps, your computer will immediately start using the new DNS settings.

    No internet for Xbox :(

    Hi there is no error message, I simply cant physically connect xbox to ethernet connection as they are in different rooms, it would mean moving an old CRT 32"TV into the same room as the internet connection, so that I can go to the dashboard and activated
    the downloads?

    Or if I just take my xbox through to other room and put in the cable connection will the downloads load automatically?

    My xbox hasnt been online for 3 years as Im on limited broadband (40gb) .

    I would suggest that after you unplug BOTH router and modem (and all other netword devices such as switches if you have them) and waiting 30 seconds... to go back to the console and restore the network settings to factory defaults.

    To restore to factory defaults, from the dashboard go to settings>system>Network settings>chose your network>configure network> go to the right, to the additional settings tab, then select restore network settings to factory defaults..

    Once you select yes, you then need to turn off your console, and then turn it back on... after that run a connection test.

    Even though your iPad can connect, doesnt mean your xbox can.. The xbox needs a pretty strong wireless connection to stay connected... You may be having issues with wireless interference.

    Also it would be helpful to mention what the specific error is. (ie. IP address error, DNS error... ect.)

    Im having the same issue but only with one game, modern warfare. Ive done everything from the wifi all the way to a hard reset. But im only getting 100kb when i normally get 150mb. I just finished updating another game and was getting normal speeds. Now
    im not as soon as mw started to update.
