Xbox insiders won’t update my console

My Xbox X series just said update an I pressed update console but it won’t update

this update has really screwed up my x. Insider hub won’t even launch so that I can report the problems without a hard reset. Very disappointed that there has been no response after this drastic drop in performance of a “premium” console.

The requirements for an offline system update are confirmed here:

Perform an offline system update | Xbox Support

• A Windows-based PC with an Internet connection and a USB port
  
• A USB flash drive with a minimum 6 GB of space formatted as NTFS
  

Note that if you’re an Xbox Insider, then this won’t be an option as Insider builds aren’t compatible with any OSU files. So if you’re currently in a preview, you should opt out and then restart your console before trying the offline update. This should take around 10 minutes.

As per ‘How to remove a single console from the Xbox Update Preview program’ in the Xbox Insider Programme FAQ

1. Launch the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox or a Windows device.
   
2. On the main landing page, select Settings.
   
3. Select Manage devices and choose the one you want to remove from the programme.
   
4. Select Done.

I think I joined the Xbox Insider program. But my console didn't join the insider update, is that relevant?
