Xbox Insiders with Game Pass Ultimate – Stream Your Own Game on Xbox Consoles - Xbox Wire

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are inquiring about playing games remotely without using your console.

Whenever you play any games using the formally know service as XCloud, you stream the games over a network. This means the game is not saved onto your device, and is being held somewhere else. However, using the new game streaming service that comes included
with Game Pass Ultimate, you are only able to stream the games that are part of the Xbox Game Pass catalogue.

Furthermore, there was something that you could test with the Xbox Game Streaming app that served for console streaming. This meant that you could play games that were installed on your console remotely on your phone while your console and your additional
device were connected to stable network.

Have you been accepted onto the Xbox Console Streaming (Preview) program? This should be found in the Insider Content section of the Xbox Insider
Hub app. I have quoted the below from the Xbox Console Streaming (Preview) program FAQ found at the bottom of the page.

“To participate in the Console Streaming (Preview), download the “Insider Hub” app to your Xbox One console. Then, download the “Xbox Game Streaming (Preview)” app on your Android device. Follow the steps in the app on your mobile device to pair your
console and phone. Then, start playing the games you already own! Please note, the initial roll out to Insiders will be phased. For the most up to date details on which Insider rings have access to the Preview, please visit insider.xbox.com.”

You should be able to play any games that are marked as Play Anywhere, here are the list of games you can play on console and PC if you own them

https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-play-anywhere. If you have Game Pass Ultimate, you will be able to play any PC game and any Xbox play anywhere game that's on the Game Pass Ultimate list.

You can also use the Xbox Console Companion app on PC to stream your games from your console into your PC, no need to purchase the games you own.

Are both players subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate?

If I understood correctly, Player B owns the game and can play locally on his Xbox Series X.

Player A also owns the game, but can't install it on his Xbox One, but, it's able to play via XCloud.

If both players have a Game Pass subscription, and own the game, you don't need to share it to play online multiplayer.

Please note that cloud streaming is only available in the Game Pass Ultimate Subscription, and can't be shared between accounts.

In theory, both of you should be able to play via cloud streaming granted you are subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate.

If you are not sharing the game or subscription, set the Home Console correctly to each console.

Please, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > General > Personalization, and then select My home Xbox.

To make this your home Xbox, select Make this my home Xbox.

If you subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, your remaining Xbox Live converts into Game Pass Ultimate days. If the Game Pass Ultimate has run out you can either carry on with Game Pass Ultimate, or buy Xbox Live on its own. If you cancel Game Pass Ultimate
you lose any pre paid Xbox Live time.
