Xbox Insider on child's account

My son who is 14 installed the Xbox insider app on his child account about a year ago so that he could test out Minecraft beta 1.11. He would now like to stop using it as he wants to install the latest non-beta version
1.9 so he can use multiplayer with his friends. He has deleted Minecraft and reinstalled it but the beta version always gets installed. He then deleted the Xbox insider app itself but the beta version still gets installed. Unfortunately, he did not close his
Xbox insider account before deleting the app and now he is unable to reinstall it to do so. It states that his account needs to be an adult account. So he is in limbo. Please help.

Hey there Seemanator thanks for the update.

We suggest signing into the adult account and from the adult account give the child account permissions. Go to settings>account>family settings>select the child account>Privacy and online safety and from there select adult settings.

Once that is done go to the child account and try it again and let us know how it goes!

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused but rest assured we are here to help, however, we need a bit more information on this matter. We understand that the account in question is a child account but is it part of a family? Is there a parent account
on the console? Let us know so we can determine the best course of action to get this ironed out.

Side note: We don't believe the Insider hub would work on a MAC but give the App store a check and let us know!

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. He will need to unenroll of the program. Not sure how he was able to enroll with a child account. You can view the

insider FAQ, on there it shows how to remove console from the program.

How to leave the Xbox One update preview program

Whether you’re selling or giving your Xbox away, or just don’t want to participate anymore, you should remove it from the update preview program. If you’ve already sold or gifted your Xbox, you can launch the Xbox Insider Hub on another
console or a Windows 10 PC and follow these same directions.

Launch the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox One or a Windows 10 PC.

On the main landing page, select Settings.
Select Manage devices and choose the one you want to remove from the program.
Select Done.
