    But in the store it says I can buy red dead online without game pass so I did it and it won't work

    I know but I bought story right. And I saw online was on sale for 10$. So I bought red dead online the Separate like dlc in the store but it didn't let me play.

    Yes as mentioned you can buy a game with or without gamepass.but you need core or ultimate to play online only games this is with any online oy game

    Diablo4 is an example you can buy the game but it does mean you can play it without core or ultimate

    Diablo4 isn't on gamepass

    But if you have gamepsss you do get cheaper prices with deals with gold etc

    Game Pass Core or Ultimate (which includes Core) is required to play online with the exception of free-to-play games.
