    Xbox headset recognised but no audio and can’t talk


    A month or so ago I came home from football training and went on my Xbox to find I couldn’t speak to my friends and my Xbox had no audio. I have not been banned because I checked my Xbox enforcements and the time I did get banned I had a message saying communication privileges were limited for a day. However this time I don’t have any message or anything to suggest I’ve been banned. Also when I went into a online Fifa game it said my communication privileges are currently limited but that notification went away after a few games. When I plug my headset in the Xbox controller it’s recognised and the headset icon in top right of home screen says it’s connected however I cannot hear any audio or speak to my friends. i Have checked my communication and audio restrictions and they all say ‘allow’ or ‘everybody’. I don’t know why this is happened. Could you help?

    Hi sorry to appear dumb but i can’t find this setting. The only audio setting i can find is audio output but there is no on/off headset?

    I'm using a Turtle Beach Recon 50X headset, and I'm trying in two controllers, one is a standard Xbox controller (which I have tried new batteries in) and the other is a wired mini Xbox controller. For both controllers, in devices and accessories, the headset
    and mic are recognised and the volume is available, but the mic doesn't appear to work, either in game or in a party. There also seems to be a slight audio issue, which I can only imagine is a glitch from Microsoft, and I'm not sure if it is related to the
    microphone/headset issue or not - the Xbox guide 'beeping' sounds can't be heard either, even though I can hear all other audio, whether in game or from people talking in parties.

    Anyone have it where the mic connects but can’t talk out of it how do you fix that

    I did some more testing but then ran into this with the Xbox Beta App.

    Just before that I worked out that it was my USB headset, it wasn't recognising as a default audio device.
