xbox headset mic will not work

i got a brand new xbox one headset and the mic is not working. i can hear other people but my mic not picking up any sound .

Stereo Headset Microphone Issue

Update: A new headset I had ordered last week arrived, same issue, though it has separate mic/audio cables I have yet to get an adapter for, Audio cable worked, mic cable just made static while being plugged in/unplugged/twisted. Works flawlessly on my computer,
audio works on xbox, but mic won't work. I do not have access to a newer controller, and neither of my headsets are official Xbox One stereo headsets.

Xbox One S five months old and headset mic stopped working. Thought it might be mic/headset so bought new one and mic won't work. Trouble shot with Microsoft support, had internet provider change setting on NAT type to open, tried headset on different
device and mic worked, replaced controller, replaced console and mic still doesn't work. With Microsoft support help reset every possible setting in account and mic still does not work. Support is out of ideas. Does anyone in the community have any ideas
or has experienced this issue? Thanks

 

This could be to do with the connection issues xbox live is currently having. Have you tried your headset on a different controller? If the problem persists after connecting issues try a hard reset. Also check your NAT type too.

 

nat type open and connection seems good and i try to hard reset like 5 times
