    Just swapped my Xbox Series X with my Xbox One S and other than the new HDMI cord included with the Series X it’s hooked up exactly the same. However, with the new Xbox HDCP does not seem to be working. I am unable to play physical movies and tv shows, or movies and tv shows from my digital library. I have tried a few fixes found online including swapping the HDMI cord, cleaning the disk, power cycling the console, uninstalling the app and swapping the HDMI port it’s plugged into and it is still not working at all.

    I will disclaim that the tv I have is older. From the earlyish 2010s however it never had any issue playing content from the Xbox One S. And I see the blu-ray player app has overwhelmingly negative reviews. I know people aren’t buying it as a blu-Ray player but I would like that functionality to be working.

    Xbox Series X HDCP Issue

    It’s not the TV I have no problems with my Xbox 1X or my PS5 they work perfectly fine same TV same receiver same eARC setup.

    I’ve already done multiple factory resets.

    Between the HDCP problem and the horrible input latency my Series X is nothing more than a paper weight.

    I’m not the only user having HDCP issues with the Series X and Series S especially when using eARC there are 100’s of complaints on this forum and Reddit.

    My Xbox series X is no longer connecting to my internet.

    The Xbox factory reset on the series X still did not work, it wouldn’t connect to the network. I connected my original Xbox one (2014) back up to my monitor and I was able to play online games just fine on there, same Microsoft account and internet that the series X was not connecting too. My Xbox series x keeps saying it has a hardware issue when trying to connect the internet, I’m pretty sure this proves it’s a physical problem with the hardware on my Xbox. I still have warranty on it and can return it and trade in for a new one. I’ll try doing this and seeing if the trade in one works.

    Define Switch. If it's a physical switch, that may be the issue.

    No, I play the videos on an XBox Series X with the media player. The external SDD is connected via USB to the front USB port. There is no PC involved.
