    xbox hacking of account


    I have no knowledge with xbox or gaming and didnt even know i had a gamertag for some years. But it turns out someone else did and they used my account to add friends and do whatever it is people do. Now Id like to find out if there is a way to somehow track these people down. I have the gamertag of their 2 friends that were added to my account when it happened. Can i track these people and find out who they are, when they were added, and what IP addresses were used for whatever it is they did?

    Also, what information, if any, can they get from my account by using xbox? Do they have to have an xbox to add friends? Can i track them through the xbox used? if so how?

    Lots of questions but completely ignorant with gaming.

    All help and input greatly appreciated

    Microsoft you have a PROBLEM

    Unless a main website or service has been hacked - like PSN, it's not a hack ok.

    Phishing, NOT a hack

    Social engineering, NOT a hack

    Giving someone your LIVE ID to someone else and then losing your account,
    NOT a hack

    Using dodgy software or websites offering free points and what not, then losing your account, still
    NOT a hack.

    Signing up for various suspect websites using the same email address and password for LIVE. then losing your account. still
    NOT a hack.

    If EA was compromised and it held your Windows LIVE ID, this is technically a hack, but it's EA that would have been hacked, not Xbox LIVE. When I say 'hack' I mean a real, sophisticated website or server attack. A hack in the literal sense of the word.

    You need to purchase a new subscription for your new account, or you could contact the Xbox Support and get your Hacked account back, unless its not really hacked?
