xbox got overwhelmed loading save file + terrible story + bad way of explaining how stuff works

i have a xbox 360 that has a removed internal storage device, bcuz of this my only way of playing cloud storage is by using a hard drive you put inside the 360, i have a slim and to be fair its in last stand. you have to physically hit the side of the console or where the disc drive is in order for it to actually manually start the disc drive. not to mention that my dad purposely removed the internal storage due to it failing to even boot up the select account screen. making it use a usb device as fallback, but my dad didnt know it overwrites system files or something every update so it only needs a usb device to store stuff not play games or whatever, anyways i guess it does the same thing to the 250 gb hard drive i have that has like stuff you would get when the xbox 360 came out because my dad transferred his red ringed consoles stuff on it in like 2010, anyways every time i use the drive it does a poor job of actually handling anything on my xbox. what im trying to say is, that just playing any game that was stored on it before maybe like 2016 would be a crash fest. an example is gta 5 installed on 2014 but my sister had played both digital and on disk, on the hard drive everything was just slow, so slow everything would take forever to load. dashboard took 1- 15 minutes depending on how my 360 felt. ANYWAYS TO SUM IT UP, GTA 5 WOULD CRASH BEFORE YOU EVEN GOT TO THE CITY TO SANDY SHORES OR NEAR THE MOUNTAINS, and not only that, but just looking at the friends list or doing something too fast would crash the xbox guide. so how does using my hard drive affect my 360?, BY ALOT. Anyways back to the reason i even made this post was because i redownloaded gta 4 and tried playing on a very old save. What happened was as soon as it booted up it recognized the save and stuff but i realized it didnt actually like load the save like normal, instead it was just stuck loading. i cant really remember what exactly happened but all i know is that, it was talking about how i have to like do a system update that pretty much required to restart the xbox in order to like play the game or some **** because it even had a error code with it, like said i cannot remember what it said because i usually do not ask for help and i didn't know what would happen next. I know what a game update would usually look like and it isnt the one that i saw that pops up after not playing a game for a long time, however it was one that i never seen before, and idk how to explain this but right after the photo with swat guys going up stairs or something this menu popped up, and it gave a choice to update or not, anyways after it installed and restarted, as soon as my xbox one picked up the 2nd hdmi signal it booted in 480p, not 1080p. I think it had much screen tearing and weird stuff going on that it could've gave you a seizure anyways that was like a 1 sec or 2 but whenever the 360 finished its start up it was stuck on like the logo with yk what, and im not gonna cap to you but i was confused, i also have something that kinda blocks the way of my 360, so by the time i stood up it had a red ring, slim models and e models do not give you a red ring whenever the console has no av or hdmi plugged in or when it is plugged in but the tv is not connected to it, just had to be clear, ik i worded this wrong but i was just focused on just explaining this and in the first part i was going off my perspective and assumption. anyways im very curious to know why this happened, and what lead up to it. anyways bye bye
