Xbox gold subscription with prepaid card -> what happens when you cancel subscription?

I recently bought 3 prepaid 12 month xbox live gold cards. While redeeming each, i was asked to turn on auto renewal, and i would get a free month. I did this with the first and second card. Now when i try to enter the last card, it tells me i cannot at
this time (36 months max, and i am at 26).

Is there a way to remove these extra two months so i can use this 12 month card? I would like to upgrade it to xbox gamepass ultimate, so i would want all 36 months to upgrade at once.

Is there a way? If i cancel the subscription, will my cards work again, allowing me to reenter them and NOT take the free month?

If you enter a prepaid code it will default to prepaid cards and shut off renewal

You gotta rememember you remove it you remove it all

And are issued a prepaid code for the remainder that would be 8 3monrhs and 2 1month code

Entering the 12month code will just issur another 1 free month again you are going to havr to wait till 23 months are left

Yea dont add all 3 at one time just wait. Dont cancel either because you will lose all of your time!!!

Auto payment does not need to be cancelled. What happens is any prepaid card cuts in and the autopayment cuts out. The autopayment will only activate if needed. In this case it will be in 12 months time.

To be safe you can allocate the prepaid card and then turn autopayment off. Make sure you have added the prepaid card before turning off the autopayment though.

Currently I have Game Pass Ultimate subscription with recurring billing off and don't want this subscription service once it expires 10/22/22, so do I just activate my prepaid xbox live gold subscription card on 10/23/22, or do I actually have to cancel game pass ultimate subscription for my account on 10/23/22 manually before redeeming and activating my xbox live gold prepaid 12 month card on 10/23/22?

Also, if you select turn off recurring billing on your account for your current game pass ultimate subscription, does that automatically cancel your prepaid game pass ultimate subscription on its expiration date? or is it requirement that you still manually cancel Game Pass Ultimate on or after its prepaid expiration date if you wish to switch back to xbox live gold using a prepaid subscription card?
