Xbox Gold game prices

Firstly, I found it difficult to contact anyone regarding xbox gold. I would have prefered an email address.....

I received a Game download code as a birthday present. I intended to buy the new Doom game with it. The cost of the game at Amazon is £29.45. At Game (where the code was bought!) it's £29.99. Via Xbox Gold it's £49.99. Why???

Deals with Gold

Hi, you would outright own the title in that case. Deals with Gold are sale prices offered only to Xbox Live Gold members, but once that game is purchased at that price, it's yours.

Xbox live Gold promotion not applied

Hi,

I bought Zenith today. WHile I have an xbox live gold account, I paid the full price for the game.

The price displayed was right (5€ with xbox live gold) but the invoice shows that I paid 19,99€ instead....

The game prices in the matketplace are generally set by the company that makes/distributes the game when you buy a game from a retailer they are free to set there own prices.

So the people who run Xbox Gold can't set their own prices?

Or even match Game where the code was bought from?

Also, when a game is downloaded from Gold there is no DVD or box to pay for, no shop rates or rent, fewer employees etc

It seems to me to be not playing ball when Gold advertises:

"Save up to 50–75% on games, add-ons, and more in the Xbox Store."

www.xbox.com/.../deals-with-gold) that you can only access when you have a gold subscription. So you can save when there is a sale, but in generalgds is correct. Game prices are generally set by the publishers who will mark it at MSRP. The prices do drop
over time, but are usually slower than in a retail store.

Also the correct pricing. The price in grey is not the regular price of a game. That is the sale price for free members. There is an additional percentage off for gold members which is shown with the gold price. The regular price is not shown in the store
during a sale.
