Xbox Gold/Game Pass Experation dates

“I used a gift card for 12 months of Gold on June 19th 2020. I digitaly bought the Game Pass with a limited time offer of $1, 4 days later, on June 23 2020.

This action extended my gold to 13 months and converted it all into Game Pass Ultimate. It also read that my Gold expired on the the same day.

Everything was fine until last month on the 24th. It refused to let me access anything until I payed a debt of 14.99 from around April 10th 2019, when I forgot to stop recurring billing on the game pass back then. I gladly payed the Debt and it told me that my game pass would expire today. (February 23 2021)

It seemed very sketchy since I was told that my Game Pass and Gold would expire somewhere in July. But I accepted it since I figured I'd be fine without Game Pass.

But now my Gold and Game Pass expired today. (At least 5 months before the original expiration date) How and why Is this a possibility?
