Xbox Giving Slow Internet Speeds?

Hey, I've been having a problem with my Xbox giving me really low speeds although my internet is very speedy. When performing a speed test on the Xbox I will receive speeds like 12 download and 3 upload. However, when I run the same test on my laptop(in
the same room as Xbox) I get speeds like 230 download and 28 upload. The wifi connection is 100% and this makes no sense to me. I've tried resetting and hard resetting my Xbox but I get no results. I'm starting to wonder if its an internal issue. I was wondering
if anyone has any answers or ways to help.

No you shouldn't. Unless it was a typo you said you are using a wired connection.

Powerline adaptors just act as an ethernet extention for if a normal wired connection isn't practical.

As you are already using wired you already have the best connection type.

You slow speeds are probably because your internet connection is slow which would need to be fixed by your ISP.

If you don't think your actual internet is slow because you only have slow speeds on xbox then start a new thread asking for help giving full details of your connection like ISP and brand name of router and modem.

It will mostly affect your online games, Because you need a high speed network not to disconnect from any game..You can play some games using this network speed.

Sorry to hear you are running into connectivity issues, If this is a constant issue and it's causing issues with your Gaming experience maybe Port Forwarding is something you can take a look into. Go ahead and follow this link to the "Network
ports used by Xbox Live on Xbox One." If you're having a hard time getting the ports set up you can always reach out to your Internet Service Provider for assistance with setting them up.

Hey Erick, Thanks for suggesting a solution. However, I don't believe that will help my issue too much. This problem never used to happen and I always used to have a really good internet. I'm confused why this poped up all the sudden and I think fixing
it may have to do with something else.

man 12 down and 3 up! wish I was getting that. I too have been experiencing similar issues for quite a while now and have followed all the links and stuff that has been sent to me had ISP make sure all my ports were open (I was emailed a list of ports for
both xbox and EA specific ports from EA) and now I can't even get a response. so good luck man and if you get the issue solved could you please keep me in mind and send me the info on what to do. please and thanks and good luck

Thank you for keeping us updated. Has the hardware for your network changed recently? Are you connecting to the 5.0Ghz or 2.4 Ghz wireless network? Some routers will prioritize data distribution based on which device connects to the router first. There is
a way to prioritize your Xbox in the router settings. In order to take this step, the make and model of the router must be known. An example of this is the Netgear(Make) R9000(Model). Also, the console will receive more download and upload speed if it is connected
with an ethernet cable. If you would like to keep your console connected through WiFi, we will continue to assist you until we find out what is causing this issue. Be sure to let us know the results!
