XBOX Gift Cards

I want to buy xbox gift cards for Christmas, but am confused about them. Are there some cards that are more desirable? I dont want to buy and give the wrong type. Thank you in advance!!

XBOX Live Gift Cards

There’s Xbox gift cards, which can be spent on anything in the store, and then there are Xbox Live subscription cards. If you bought a card specifically for Gold, then it’s just for that. I would go back to the store and exchange it for Xbox gift cards.

I would be happy to help you here. There are 2 different types of Gift cards you can buy. One gift card will give you

Xbox live gold. The gift cards will either be for 3 or 12 months of service. The other gift card will provide the

Microsoft account wallet with Currency. you can then use this currency to purchase Games or movies/TV shows. The Currency Gift cards are the go-to cards for when you do not want to add a credit or debit card to your account.

The subscription cards will show you how many months you are purchasing on the front of the card. The currency cards will show a dollar amount on the front of the card.

So it seems the Gold Live are good for unlimited

use for a specific period of time, while the others can be used to make individual purchases?

 

Xbox Gift Cards add currency of a certain amount (either the amount shown on the card, or an amount you decide) to your child's account. They can use that currency to buy content that they want.

Prepaid membership cards adds a length of subscription to their account. The membership card will say what service it is for (either Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass) and for how long it lasts (usually 3 months, 6 months or 12 months). When that period expires,
the membership ends if there is no attached payment method (debit/credit card, for instance). You can stack up to 36 months of subscriptions on the account, so you can renew well in advance of the subscription expiring, if desired.

You are correct there about the individual purchases. I personally use the currency gift cards for all of my digital purchases.

to add onto Live gold, this feature will allow the account to play games online with people around the world. You also get free games every month with

"Games with gold". You get up to $700 in free games during a year of membership. It turns out to be very worth it for daily gamers.
