Xbox gift card trouble

Hi! We bought an Xbox gift card for $25 at Target. The receipt says that the card is activated but when we put the code in, we get the error “ This code is not yet active. Contact the merchant to activate this code.” Because our receipt says activated, Target won’t do anything further. Any suggestions?

I apologize for the trouble, if possible, you can also try using an Xbox Gift Card in purchasing games.

Gift cards are handled by a third-party. On the bottom of your receipt or on the card there should be an 800 number to call

As gift cards are disposable, and plastic is polluting as well as more expensive, it’s unlikely they will go back

You’re supposed to scratch the silver part with a coin, not peel it off if that helps

If you have trouble with a gift card, there is an 800 number on the receipt that you need to call, gift cards are handled by third parties, including support of damaged codes

They'll offer you a nice $5 Target gift card for your troubles. I said don't bother.
