Xbox gift card in different countries

Hi im located in the U.S i have a friend who recently got an xbox but he is located in guyana i was wondering if i bought a gift card and i send him the digital codes would he be able to redeem it

I don't believe he will be able to use that due to monetary exchange rates.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to answer that.

Unfortunately any redeemable codes on the Microsoft Store are region locked so that would not be possible. Codes purchased from a certain region need to be redeemed in the same region. Also, Guyana is not on the

list of supported regions for Xbox Live, so it would be difficult for your friend to access most Xbox Live services.

But how can I find out what region the gift was bought from, I purchased with a card from a different country, although my account is located in a different country then the card I paid with.

yobrizo is correct with this. You cannot gift a game to someone in a different country/region than you. If you want to gift a game to someone in a different country, you best bet would be to either purchase a physical copy and send that to them, or purchase
a gift card for their country/region, and email them the code, then they can purchase the game themselves.

U need a vpn and set it to uk and redeem it on ur phone it work for my friend when i sent him a gift card
