Xbox Gen 4 Astro A50's mic won't connect to Xbox

I have the gen 3 astro a50. Audio is great but it does not pick up my mic?

all i can say is make sure you update them before using them also if you want the best then go with ASTRO i use ASTRO A40's got them in 2011 and work fine im getting the new GEN 2 astro a40's next week they say they work for ps4 but they work fine with xbox
one you just need a mic cable and chat adaptor the mic cable is £6you can also get wireless astros which are the a50's also if you dont care for 5.1 or 7.1 then the astro a40's built for xbox one and the mix amp is on the controller they are £170 and stereo

Thanks for the suggestions. For the A50's, I read a lot about poor mic quality and buzzing in the headset. Any personal experience with this issue and if/how you corrected it? Also, do you know if there is a significant difference between Gen 1 and Gen
2 for the A50's? I'm still really up in the air here. A50's are said to be a little bass heavy whereas the XP510's are said to lack a little bass. Mic troubles in the A50, didn't read about any sort of thing with the 510's. The elites are harder to find
a "deal" on so it really might be between the other two. Any specific reason the Astros over the Turtle Beach model? The turtle beach seems to allow more audio customization and has a few more connectivity features. I don't think either one will be bad

So i do have a USB mic connected to my PC to use as my main mic for my stream but I have Astro A50 connected to my xbox for game sound and game chat
