    Xbox gaming on 2016 27" Imac Covid Stressed


    Hello all, have you been pushed off of your TV more and more from your friends and family since the pandemic? If yes then you're suffering game play time like me. I'm desperately trying to no avail to connect my Xbox One to my iMac so that I can once again
    have my gaming time sessions. I have A lightnening to HDMI cable but I'm still not getting any picture. I'm A tech noob crying for help so I can get my gaming on again. Sharing 1 TV is driving me nuts. Pleaase help...Thank You All

    Thank you for your post. I understand you are attempting to use an Apple iMac as a monitor for your Xbox One. This is not supported by Xbox and there are no settings/steps that can be taken to make a combination like this work. You will need to contact
    Apple Support for any possible solutions.

    Here's some instructions I found online for using a 27" iMac as a monitor for your Xbox.

    1. First, you’ll need to setup your Xbox 360 by connecting it to a regular HDTV. Once you’ve turned on your Xbox, go into System Settings / Console Settings / Display / HDTV Settings. Once you’re in HDTV Settings, select 720p. This first step is crucial! If
      you don’t set the resolution to 720p beforehand, you’ll find that your iMac will not display anything even after you setup everything else correctly.
    2. Connect one end of the provided HDMI cable to Xbox, and the other end to the adapter.
    3. Connect the provided display port adapter into the iMac.
    4. Make sure the power source to the adapter is plugged in. Turn on your Xbox.
    5. On your iMac, press Command + F2 to enter Target Display Mode
