Xbox Gameshare wont share xbox live gold but will share games

Hi so I've had this problem for about a year now and I've finally decided to try fix it. The problem being is that me and my friend are game sharing so his account is my home xbox account and mine is his home xbox account.

Now both accounts have access to each others games as normal however my account no longer has xbox live gold for some reason despite my friend having it and being game shared both ways with me.

If anybody has a fix or can help find one in anyway please let me know as its a bit annoying that it isn't working now.

I've just tried both those options and signed into my account on my friends xbox aswell with no luck of it working.

have you tried a full shutdown and reboot of your console, also try going online with your friends account on the affected console to see if that works.

No we are both in the same household due to quarantine. apologies for not specifying

unless your in the same household then what you are doing risks a ban, setting home xbox is for household use, sharing your account with another person breaks the t& c's.
