    Xbox games immediately throwing you back to dashboard after trying to boot up a game...


    Recently I've had a problem where I try to boot up any game on my Xbox Series S and it immediately puts me back into my dashboard.

    I figured out that if anybody is having the same problems maybe try checking if you have any space, if you're at 99% used up that's maybe why you're being kicked off before starting up any game.

    Before figuring this out, I had to -Do a factory reset -Clear Mac Adress -Power Cycle multiple times -Restart router multiple times

    All before just having to free up space to play, and what I find crazy is that xbox hasn't come up with an error message for this. It's very inconvenient to do hours of research on one tiny problem then accidentally figuring out the solution.

    Does the game simply show the splash screen and returns to the dashboard before the game's main menu appears, or is the game actually starting and crashes to the dashboard when you are supposed to press A or otherwise start the game?

    Can you also try to hold the power button on the console for about 10 seconds, then turn the console back on, and make sure it shows you a green bootup screen with the Xbox One logo.

    If the green boot screen is not appearing, hold the power button on the console again for 20 seconds.

    After the console has finished starting and shows the home screen after the green boot screen, try to launch the game again.

    Did you clear your system cache's three times? After that, restart your Xbox and try to boot up your Spider-Man 2 game. Try booting up the game in these scenarios:

    • Try booting it up with one hard drive and then another hard drive.
    • Try booting it up without signing into your profile.
    • If possible, try it on another Xbox 360.

    Great bit of advise there mate. I've simply unpluged the HD and it booted up fine. Plugged the HD back in and its launching to the dashboard!
